These terms cover your use of Driveway Alert. We have kept them readable. By using the Service, you agree to what follows.
By using Driveway Alert ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be 18 or older and a U.S. resident. You must own or have authorized access to the Ring devices you connect to the Service.
The Service recognizes a vehicle's general appearance (make, model, body type, and color) from snapshots taken by your own Ring outdoor cameras, solely to label arrivals on your private property. The Service does not read or record license plate numbers. You may not use the Service to track third parties on public roads or in any manner inconsistent with applicable law.
Driveway Alert offers an optional feature that, when you switch it on, sends a single signal to gate equipment you already own when a vehicle you registered and separately marked is recognised arriving. The feature is off by default, must be armed per vehicle, and can be switched off at any time. It is included in your subscription at no additional charge.
It is a convenience, not a security system. Gate triggers are not an access-control system, a security system, or a life-safety system, and must not be relied upon as one. They can be late, missed, or wrong, and they depend on your camera, your internet connection and, for telephone triggers, the telephone network.
Your equipment is your responsibility. Your gate, its controller, its safety devices and any receiving service at the web address you supply are yours to install, configure, maintain and operate safely. You remain solely responsible for operating your gate safely, including keeping its safety devices — such as photocells or safety edges — fitted and in working order, and keeping an independent means of opening the gate. Driveway Alert only ever asks equipment to open; it sends no close, stop, lock or deny command. On most controllers a single pulse changes the gate's state, so a trigger arriving while your gate is already open or moving can reverse it. Do not enable this feature if your gate's safety devices are missing or not working.
You must own the destination. By enabling gate triggers you confirm that the web address and/or telephone number you provide identify equipment you own or are authorised to operate, on property you control, and that you have the right to have that telephone number called by us for this purpose. You must not configure a destination belonging to anyone else.
Never for alarms or life safety. You must not connect gate triggers to any alarm system, life-safety system, medical system, fire or gas system, or any system whose activation summons emergency services or dispatches any responder. Driveway Alert has no alarm-service integration and no emergency-dispatch capability, and you may not create one.
No delivery or timeliness guarantee. Gate triggers are provided on an as-is basis. Driveway Alert makes no guarantee that a trigger will be sent, will arrive, will arrive in time, or will produce any particular result at your gate. We do not retry a failed trigger, by design, because a repeated pulse can reverse a moving gate. A gate that opens for a recognised caller ID will open for anyone able to spoof that caller ID; you accept that risk if you use the telephone channel.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel anytime in Settings. No refunds for partial billing periods.
The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. Vehicle recognition is probabilistic and may produce false positives or false negatives. The Service is not a replacement for professional security monitoring or law enforcement.
This applies to gate triggers in particular. Recognition is based on a vehicle's general appearance, so a different vehicle that closely resembles one you saved can trigger your gate. Driveway Alert is not an access-control system, a security system, or a life-safety system, and must not be relied upon as one.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Erbacci LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time from Settings.
